Europe’s competitiveness and climate ambition are intrinsically linked. Decarbonising industry at scale is increasingly recognised as a key to enhancing economic resilience and strategic autonomy, especially in light of evolving geopolitical dynamics, fluctuating energy markets, and growing global competition.
Innovation is the engine of decarbonisation and Europe has groundbreaking ideas; however, turning climate ambition into industrial leadership requires more than innovation alone. It demands fast commercial scale-up of clean technologies, sustained investment, resilient value chains and clear, predictable policy frameworks that allow European solutions to compete globally.
The 2026 Cleantech Conference brings together policymakers, industry leaders, investors and innovators to take stock of progress, exchange insights and challenge ideas to help drive Europe’s transformative decarbonisation agenda forward.
Organised by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA), the conference highlights the role of the Innovation Fund as a cornerstone of Europe’s approach to bringing transformative decarbonisation solutions to market while looking ahead to foster Europe’s competitiveness.
Deadline for onsite registration is 5 May 2026.
Deadline for online registration is 18 May 2026.
Why attend?
The 2026 Cleantech Conference will:
- Explore how industrial decarbonisation can transform Europe’s competitiveness, resilience and energy security.
- Discuss pathways to accelerate market deployment of clean technologies, from renewable energy and hydrogen to storage, e-fuels and carbon-removal solutions.
- Examine how to mobilise private investment and bridge financing gaps for breakthrough projects.
- Share lessons from Innovation Fund projects that are already delivering impact on the ground
- Strengthen dialogue between policymakers, industry, investors and innovators across Europe.
Through plenary and parallel sessions, project showcases, B2B meetings and networking opportunities, participants will gain concrete insights, new partnerships and a clearer view of Europe’s clean industrial roadmap.
Networking and exchange
Getting connected via the Events@EU app
An important aspect of the Cleantech Conference is to facilitate networking and collaboration between EU-funded projects, European Commission representatives, industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and wider stakeholder networks. By bringing together this diverse community, the event will support the upscaling of solutions and strengthen efforts to foster a competitive industry that contributes to climate neutrality.
The Events@EU app is an easy-to-use tool that provides dedicated opportunities for participants to meet, interact, and build synergies. It encourages collaboration among both online and on-site participants before, during, and after the event.
This app will be available to those who are registered to the event. More information will follow upon registration.
