The European Sustainable Energy Week took place in a hybrid format from 20-22 June and exceeded all expectations, achieving remarkable numbers!
The conference attracted over 12.000 participants from 125 countries – of which 2000+ attended onsite. They were able to take part in over 60 policy sessions and seven plenaries and listen to over 400 inspiring speakers. The Energy Fair hosted 35 stands with, amongst others, information on projects and organisations, a playhouse for children, solar panel demos and games.
Wondering how we organised such a big event whilst taking sustainability into account? Measures that consider environmental, social and economic factors include the use of local food, upcycling of materials of past editions of EUSEW, compensation of carbon footprint, etc.
The Awards Ceremony recognised three outstanding projects and individuals in the categories of:
- Innovation: Alqueva Floating Solar Farm, funded by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF);
- Local Energy Action: KLIK (Križevci Laboratory for Innovation in Climate)
- Woman in Energy: Anastasia-Maria Moschovi
For the first time, EUSEW featured a cohort of 30 Young Energy Ambassadors who co-created solutions for the clean energy transition. Have a look at what they had to say!
If you have attended EUSEW, please share your feedback of the event via the survey by 7 July.
You can rewatch the sessions here or reconnect to the unforgettable moments of EUSEW in the wrap-up video. You can also have a look at the photos in the EUSEW albums.
EUSEW concluded on a high note, paving the way for a more sustainable future!
