OpenEARTH 2: Conference on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation

OpenEARTH 2024, set in the historic Institute for Mediterranean Studies, aims to promote discussions on climate adaptation, sustainable agriculture, and innovative solutions relevant to the Mediterranean region. 

Participants will delve into the impacts of climate change on agriculture, circular economy strategies, and the essential roles of stakeholders in effective management. Emphasizing awareness and dialogue among scientists, policymakers, and the public, the conference will cover topics such as agribusiness adaptation to climate change, sustainable practices in agriculture and livestock, and the use of innovative tools like GIS and remote sensing.  

Key dates for OpenEARTH 2024 include the abstract submission deadline on 31 October 2024, notifications to authors by 5 November, and the submission of full papers by 20 November.

About LIFE ClimaMED:

The LIFE ClimaMed project aims to develop and deliver innovative, reliable, rapid and cost-effective technologies of Tier 3 level for the on-site measurement of CO2, CH4 and N2O emissions and soil organic matter (SOC) stock changes from agricultural fields in real time, in order to facilitate scientists, public authorities and policy-makers in collecting, quantifying, evaluating, mapping and reporting spatial data for GHG emissions, and SOC stock changes, derived from the Mediterranean agricultural sector.
