This year’s edition of the European Maritime Day (EMD) took place in Brest, France on 24 and 25 May. The EMD is the place where ‘Ocean Leaders Meet’. It provides an inspiring framework to discuss the latest developments in the blue economy and the marine environment. The EMD boasted inspirational speeches, thematic sessions, workshops, pitching sessions, an Awards Ceremony and more.

Description
CINEA participated with a joint European Stand where visitors were able to learn more about the European funding opportunities and initiatives in the blue economy. Fourteen project beneficiaries also presented their innovative results at the Stand.
CINEA also organised the following workshop and pitching sessions:
- Funding opportunities for Blue SMEs, highly innovative & breakthrough technologies – 24 May from 12:00 to 12:40 (CEST)
- EU funding opportunities for a sustainable blue economy – 24 May from 16:30 to 17:00 (CEST)
- EMD Cities Network part 1: CINEA session - EU projects accelerating the energy transition – 25 May from 10:30 to 11:45 (CEST)
- Advancing gender equality in the blue economy – 25 May from 15:15 to 15:45 (CEST)
Businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs, academia and EU citizens interested in the sea were invited to take part in the numerous activities organised during the two-day conference.
