Circular Future: Z-ONA4LIFE's revolution in aluminium production

This webinar primarily focused on introducing the project's initial stages.

The circular economy is a crucial approach for enhancing the sustainability of aluminium production. The Z-ONA4LIFE project aligns with this approach, aspiring to revolutionise the aluminium industry into a circular operation. Initiated in September 2023, the project intends to circularise the industry by 2027 through four key phases: waste selection; product and process scaling-up; circularity and near-zero waste; and sustainability and results exploitation.

Z-ONA4LIFE’s event outlined the project’s goals, presented its pilot plant, detailed the conversion process from salt slag to zeolite, and demonstrated how to initiate a circular business model, starting in Spain and eventually expanding to Europe. The project is in its early stages and seeks to establish strong connections with the Spanish industrial sector. Hence, the first webinar was conducted in Spanish, with subsequent events in English or bilingual.
