Chefs at the head of the table: the importance of being a 'Climate Smart Chef' today in Europe

About LIFE Climate Smart Chefs  It aims to contribute to developing and implementing the EU Climate Policy and the Farm to Fork Strategy by actively involving European chefs as promoters of low-emission, nutritious and affordable diets.

The event occurred online on Zoom on July 5th, 2023, at 3 pm CET.

The agenda of the event included:

🎯a look at the first results of the Climate Smart Chefs project

📑the presentation of Vision 2030 - a strategic policy paper containing a set of recommendations for decision-makers to transform policy in the EU so that it delivers a more sustainable food system, developed through a participative process that involved around 150 food experts and chefs - there will be the possibility to download your copy of the report.

🌱a roundtable session during which recognized chefs from all around the EU - among them, Chiara Pavan & Francesco Brutto (Venissa Restaurant) and Conor Spacey (FoodSpace, Chefs' Manifesto) - shared with us inspiring stories on how they put sustainability into practice in their restaurants and daily activities.

🏆 the launch of the first edition of the Climate Smart Chefs Award, aiming to recognize and celebrate the commitment of chefs and non-profit organizations towards a more sustainable food system.
