Organised by the European Commission’s DG Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, the conference drew in over 800 participants from across Europe and beyond, both on-site and remotely.
From events discussing the common European mobility data space, enabling a Just Transition, and how to integrate shared-mobility solutions in the urban mobility ecosystem, Urban Mobility Days speakers covered a rich and wide range of important issues around urban mobility. As 2023 is the European Year of Skills, Urban Mobility Days also had a specific focus on transport skills.
Speaking at the session on “Funding and Financing Urban Mobility: Lessons Learnt and New Ideas”, CINEA Director Paloma Aba Garrote highlighted the key role played by CINEA in responding to funding needs and expectations of cities through its different programmes.
Around 30 projects funded under the EU's research and innovation programmes – Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe – and managed by CINEA took part during the fast-moving project pitch sessions and in the exhibition area, which was visited by the EU Transport Commissioner Vălean.
Coinciding with the event, CINEA also launched two publications covering different aspects of sustainable mobility – the CORDIS Results Pack "Building sustainable transportation systems accessible to all" and "Enabling Smart and Green Logistics"
If you were not able to join the sessions live, you can re-visit the recorded sessions and supporting materials here to explore the ideas shared and debated. You can also find a selection of photographs from the event here.
