The Horizon Europe Info Days on Cluster 5 topics – Climate, Energy and Mobility – took place virtually on 15 and 16 December 2022, with an average of more than 2,000 participants each day.
Organised by CINEA – the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency – the Info Days included keynote speeches from Rosalinde Van der Vlies, Director at DG Research and Innovation, Hans Van Steen, Principal Adviser to the Deputy-Director General in DG Energy, Torsten Klimke, Head of Unit in DG Transport and Mobility, Alexandre Paquot, Director at DG Climate Action, and Dirk Beckers, Director of CINEA.
The welcome session also covered a number of horizontal topics ranging from synergies with the New European Bauhaus initiative, to the importance of international cooperation and issues related to implementation.
Over the two days, speakers from the European Commission presented the research and innovation topics proposed under the Cluster 5 Work Programme 2023-2024. Q&A sessions provided an opportunity to prospective applicants to learn more about the funding criteria and application process. A number of new calls under six 'destinations' opened on 13 December 2022 with a budget of EUR 960 million.
A separate virtual pitching session and brokerage session organised by the National Contact Points (NCP) took place in the afternoon on 15 December. The brokerage session offered the opportunity to future project partners to network through dedicated meetings organised by sector.
