Description
In July, the European Commission presented the Fit for 55 package, which aims to revise the EU’s climate and energy legislation to implement its new 2030 climate target of net 55% emission reduction.
In an effort to help Member States develop their positions on the package, this event will bring together high-level speakers to show how Fit for 55 can further increase the EU’s climate ambition and accelerate the energy transition.
The event will also serve the purpose of launching Climate Analytics’ recent research on 1.5°C compatible emission reduction pathways for the EU and nine Member States.
Two panels will take place:
Enhancing EU’s climate ambition through the Fit for 55 package
14 October 2021, 10.00 - 11.30 am CET
Pathways for Member States to turn the Fit for 55 package into Fit for 1.5
14 October 2021, 13.00 - 14.30 CET
This event is being organised by the LIFE UNIFY, 1.5°C Pathways for Europe and EUKI projects that aim to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy in Europe.
