Networking meeting on LIFE and innovative funding for nature

The Networking meeting on LIFE and innovative funding for nature convened policymakers, LIFE project representatives, and stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss funding strategies for nature conservation.

The event spotlighted examples of innovative sources of funding beyond public grants, such as philanthropy, corporate contributions, and biodiversity credits, drawing on experiences from current and past LIFE projects.

Through case studies and panel discussion sessions, participants explored the barriers, opportunities, and future potential of innovative funding sources. The meeting aimed to identify high-value approaches for mobilising additional funding sources to complement public grants and achieve the ambitious targets of the EU Nature Restoration Law.
