Description
Agricultural systems are significant contributors to greenhouse gas production and environmental pollution. An integrated approach is required for mitigation and creating climate-smart and environment-friendly production systems.
The theme of ISCRAES 2022 was ‘Implementing the New Green Deal: The Path Towards Sustainable Agriculture’. This theme referred to the European Green Deal’s primary objective of tackling the current major environmental, climate and societal challenges.
Innovative and creative ideas relating to arable cropping, grassland, agro-silvopastoral and novel farming systems were showcased. Various decision support tools, carbon farming and nature-based solutions were also presented.
Eight LIFE projects participated in ISCRAES 2022:
- LIFE Desert-Adapt
- LIFE AGROGESTOR
- SheepToShip LIFE
- VITISOM LIFE
- LIFE AgriCOlture
- LIFE AGROMITIGA
- LIFE POREM
- Forage4Climate
These projects presented their achievements in various thematic and poster sessions.
Also, updates on the LIFE Programme 2021-2027, the LIFE Calls for proposals for 2022 and the ongoing LIFEis30 campaign were discussed.
