Description
Connecting Europe Days brought together politicians, industry representatives and the European Commission to discuss transport and mobility and their role in contributing to the European Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy.
European Commissioner for mobility and transport Adina Vălean, Director-General Henrik Hololei, Chair of the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism Committee Karima Delli, and representatives from the French Presidency of the Council of the EU spoke at the opening session. Their interventions focused on the latest political developments, including the war in Ukraine and their consequences on the transport sector and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
There was an exhibition featuring cutting-edge EU-funded innovations. BIOHEC-LIFE (Advanced Biodiesel in circular economy for low carbon public transport) participated in the exhibition, with additional LIFE projects expected to also be present.
A marketplace in which various EU-funded projects had the chance to pitch their work was also planned.
LIFE COMP0LIVE (New generation of bioCOMPosites based on OLIVE fibres for industrial applications) was confirmed for the marketplace, with the presence of more LIFE projects.
Demonstrations of alternative mobility vehicles and automated transport were foreseen.
