On 4 and 5 July 2023, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) organised jointly with the Directorate-General Climate Action (DG CLIMA) a two-day event to help applicants submit a successful application for the third small-scale call. To achieve this goal, CINEA proposed a twofold approach:
On the morning of 4 July, an online event where CINEA, DG CLIMA and a couple of successful small-scale projects from previous calls provided valuable tips on successfully preparing an application for the Innovation Fund. Participants learned about the main challenges, most common mistakes and how to avoid them, with opportunity for questions and answers (Q&A) using slido.
On the afternoon of 4 July and on the morning of 5 July, CINEA and DG CLIMA hosted online orientation sessions. Selected projects had the opportunity to present their project idea at a public event and ask questions to CINEA and DG CLIMA representatives. Description
The Innovation Fund is a dedicated funding programme for the deployment and up-scaling of innovative low-carbon technologies, aiming to bring industrial solutions to decarbonise Europe to the market. The Innovation Fund is funded with revenues from the auctioning of allowances from the European Union Emissions Trading System.
The Commission has launched a new call for small-scale projects with a total budget of EUR 100 million each in renewable energy, energy-intensive industries, energy storage, and carbon capture, use and storage. The deadline to submit applications is 19 September 2023.
