Description
This year’s edition was special as it has been 30 years since the EU Habitats Directive and the LIFE Programme were adopted. It was also the 5th anniversary of the recognition of the integral forest reserves of the Sonian Forest as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
To highlight the exceptional nature of the Sonian Forest and its protection by programmes such as UNESCO, LIFE and Natura 2000, several activities were planned. These included a walk through the forest and a festive drink at Groenendaal Forest Museum.
