The online event will focus on the progress of bio-waste management one year after the EU’s bio-waste separation mandate. Hosted by the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform, it will highlight LIFE BIOBEST’s policy recommendations to optimise the recovery of organic matter and nutrients from municipal bio-waste.
The session will discuss the role of economic instruments and governance models in improving bio-waste management, including the use of quantitative targets and support for municipalities. LIFE BIOBEST will present best practices for enhancing bio-waste recovery, fostering joint actions, and promoting circular organic fertilisers.
