Accelerating climate change adaptation in the Adriatic-Ionian Region

The ‘Accelerating Climate Change Adaptation in the Adriatic-Ionian Region’ event, held on 8–9 April 2025 in Corfu, Greece, focused on tackling the region’s most pressing climate challenges.

LIFE-IP AdaptInGR organised this event as part of its mission to catalyse the implementation of the Greek National Adaptation Strategy and the 13 Regional Adaptation Action Plans during the first adaptation policy cycle (2016–2025) and to prepare for the transition to the second adaptation policy cycle (2026+). The project promoted action at national, regional, and local levels to enhance climate resilience.

The two-day conference brought together policymakers, experts, and business leaders to discuss innovative solutions for sustainable development. Attendees gained insights into climate adaptation policies, financial tools, and innovative solutions for making infrastructure, tourism, and cities more resilient. Engaging panel discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities provided a platform to exchange best practices and shape future strategies.
