The successful completion of the Baltic synchronisation project highlights the power of cross-border cooperation and shared commitment.
There is no doubt that the EU’s financial support through CEF Energy funding has been crucial at several phases of the project, enabling rapid planning and permitting, simplifying regulatory conditions and guaranteeing investment for the development of key infrastructure. Thanks to this backing, the Baltic States have been able to push ahead with their goal of energy independence, even bringing forward the synchronisation timeline, which has strengthened the reliability and security of the entire energy system.
This achievement also highlights the shared commitment of all the parties involved. Transmission System Operators (TSOs), contractors, and the governments of the Baltic States and Poland have all worked hard and hand-in-hand with the European Commission and CINEA. This collective effort and the consequent achievement are an example of what can be achieved when EU countries and organisations join forces behind a common goal.
Finally, this project is not just a success for the Baltic States, but a success story showcasing what EU energy policy means and can achieve. It proves that through strategic planning, cooperation, and the right support, Europe can create a more secure, integrated, and sustainable energy future for all. The synchronisation of the Baltic States with the Continental European Network sets a new standard for energy cooperation and paves the way for a greener, more resilient and interconnected energy system across the continent.
