Communication toolkit

Communicate and raise EU visibility

As a beneficiary of EU support, one of your legal obligations is to acknowledge EU funding and display the EU emblem in all your information and communication material.

Communication plays a key role in making the public aware of the added value brought by combining private/national funds with European support to deliver high quality projects.

We feel that this should not be a burden to you as a beneficiary, but rather something which you have planned beforehand and are ready to execute at every step of your project's implementation.

EU Style Guide

If you are creating a communication deliverable (report, banner, website) on behalf of CINEA then you should make sure that it complies to the European Commission visual identity.

Funding emblem and guidelines

The EU emblem is the single most important visual brand used to acknowledge the origin and ensure the visibility of EU funding.

All beneficiaries, managing authorities and implementing partners of EU funding must use the EU emblem in their communication to acknowledge the support received under EU programmes. An important obligation in this context is the correct and prominent display of the EU emblem, in combination with a simple funding statement, mentioning the EU support.

Specific guidelines as well as ready-made templates have been developed by the European Commission.

Download a ready-made acknowledgment of EU funding

To make this task easier, the European Commission has prepared a number of linguistic versions of the acknowledgment in horizontal as well as vertical formats.

Actions or beneficiaries that receive 100% EU funding should use funding statement "Funded by the European Union" (even though there may be other ineligible costs for the action or other participants who bring their own resources and funding, such as the associated partners).

Actions or beneficiaries that are not funded by the EU at a rate of 100% are considered co-funded and should use funding statement "Co-funded by the European Union"
