The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport helps build new or upgrade existing transport infrastructure across Europe. It focuses on cross-border projects and projects aiming at removing bottlenecks or bridging missing links.
CEF Transport also supports traffic management systems, innovation, reducing the environmental impact, enhancing energy efficiency and increasing safety of transport. High-power electricity recharging stations and hydrogen refuelling stations are being deployed through the alternative fuels infrastructure facility. Military mobility projects upgrade key transport infrastructure to make it fit for both civilian and defence purposes.
Through EU funded projects, CEF transport contributes to the completion of the core network and comprehensive network, which are policy objectives of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T).

Nine European institutions showcased their joint vision and progress toward a more modern and effective air traffic management system in Europe at Airspace World, the annual three-day ATM trade fair that took place in Lisbon.
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport has launched the procedure for the selection of a new European TEN-T Coordinator for the North Sea–Baltic European Transport Corridor, with the appointment expected by autumn 2026.
The Commission has proposed new rules to make seamless travel across Europe a reality.
The new tube complements the original tunnel, operational since 1991, which is about 8 km long and thereby the longest road tunnel in Slovenia.
