Description
With an estimated revenue of €40 billion from 2020 to 2030 from the EU Emissions Trading System, the Innovation Fund aims to create financial incentives for companies and public authorities to invest in cutting-edge low-carbon technologies and support Europe's transition to climate neutrality.
The Innovation Fund already secured nearly €700 million in support for 6 renewable hydrogen projects through the first auction.
On 3 December 2024, the Commission opened three calls for proposals to accelerate the deployment of innovative technologies in Europe: the Innovation Fund 2024 Call (IF24 Call), the Innovation Fund 2024 Battery call (IF24 Battery), and the Innovation Fund 2024 Auction (IF24 Auction). The info day for the IF24 Call and IF24 Battery takes place on 17 and 18 December 2024.
