CINEA is looking for motivated experts to evaluate projects applying for funding from the Innovation Fund, one of the world's largest funding programmes for the deployment of innovative net-zero technologies and financed by EU ETS revenues

Classification of projects under the Innovation Fund

The Innovation Fund covers the following project classifications:

  • Innovative renewables (e.g., solar, heating and cooling, waterborne, ocean, wind, manufacturing of RES components, etc.)
  • Energy-intensive industries (all sectors covered by the EU Emissions Trading System, e.g., steel, non-ferrous, cements and lime, pulp, paper, glass, ceramic,  construction materials, hydrogen, refineries, chemicals, etc.)
  • Energy storage (including manufacturing of its components)
  • Carbon capture, use, and storage
  • Net zero mobility (aviation, maritime, road transport) and buildings

Who are we looking for?

If you are:

  • technical expert with in-depth knowledge in one or more of the categories covered by the Innovation Fund (see the above list), with extensive project implementation experience.;
  • a GHG expert in greenhouse gas emissions avoidance assessment or product, process, or service Life Cycle Assessment;
  • a financial expert in investment banking, project development and/or financial consultancy, with experience in corporate or project finance including due-diligence, bankability, and risk analysis of projects.
  • a rapporteur with proficiency level of oral and written English. Preferably already possessing experience in the role of a rapporteur for any EU funding programmes or for other funds.

What are the conditions?

The selected experts will assess the project proposals submitted under one of the Innovation Fund calls.

The selected experts will work individually and in teams, remotely.

The European Commission will offer a competitive remuneration.

Relevant expertise

The final selection of experts will be made based on their professional and technical capacity, as well as the absence of conflict of interest. For reasons of gender balance, we particularly encourage applications from women.
