EMFAF 2023 virtual Info Day - Regional flagship: submerged munitions in the Baltic Sea

UXO EMFAF

The online Info Day was an opportunity for interested applicants to hear more on the background to, and objectives of, the call as well as the conditions and process to apply.

Vincent Favrel, Head of CINEA’s Unit D3-Sustainable Blue Economy, opened the day presenting CINEA and welcoming all 39 online participants. Speakers from DG MARE presented the policy context and background to the call, aiming to mitigate the threat to human health, the environment and the development of the blue economy posed by submerged munitions in the Baltic. Speakers from CINEA and the Research Executive Agency explained the call conditions, how to register and apply, and shared tips and tricks on writing a successful proposal.

The call for proposals is open until 18 January, with a budget of EUR 2,018,000. We expect to fund one project that will bring together research institutes, international organisations, public and private entities. They will identify, and fill, knowledge gaps to conduct risk assessments to define priority areas for action, and criteria to determine the best course of action in munitions sites in the Baltic.

Interested applicants can watch the recording of the Info Day.
