Workshop - Recycled materials and public works: how to reduce the gap

Organised under the RE-PLAN CITY LIFE initiative, the workshop aims to engage public authorities, stakeholders, and urban planners in embracing circular economy principles, eco-friendly practices, and green procurement. The event will feature presentations on innovative solutions such as rubberised asphalt, steel fibre concrete mixes, and artificial turf infill materials, with experts discussing their practical applications, benefits, and the current adoption landscape across Europe. 

Attendees will participate in roundtable discussions to examine real-world challenges, share direct experiences, and explore how RE-PLAN CITY LIFE supports sustainable public project solutions. Additionally, tool demonstrations will showcase practical tools developed by the project to assist public authorities in adopting sustainable materials and fostering collaboration across EU programmes.

The day will conclude with an on-site visit to Eurofitness Can Dragó Sports Centre, offering participants a firsthand look at sustainable materials and practices in a real-world setting. Ultimately, the event provides an interactive platform for strategising future projects and enhancing synergies among EU sustainability initiatives.
