Webinar: The sustainability of plastics - LIFE networking meeting

The webinar, held on 19-20 November (morning), will explore plastics sustainability through the lens of LIFE projects, addressing critical issues and solutions for improving circularity and tackling plastic waste in the EU. 

The webinar on plastics sustainability will tackle the main challenges and solutions around plastic waste and circularity within the EU. Drawing from the experiences of LIFE and other EU-funded projects. The event will explore achievements, challenges, and gaps in areas such as governance, product design, reuse and recycling. It will also discuss the requirements for sustainable plastics and necessary policy changes to meet circular economy goals. The meeting will prioritise circular plastic solutions, biobased plastics, alternatives to single-use plastics  addressing emerging technologies, market conditions, and the role of policies (e.g.: Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation). 

The agenda will feature expert discussions on the EU's plastics strategy with its challenges and opportunities, how innovations from LIFE projects, and key challenges in achieving plastic sustainability. Attendees can expect insights on policy impacts, LIFE projects, and strategies to enhance circularity and reduce plastic waste across Europe.
