The workshop, organised by LIFE project LEAPto11, focuses on the use of energy audits and energy management systems (EnMS) - Article 11 of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) - as vital tools for improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
These instruments help businesses identify energy-saving potentials, playing a key role in meeting the EU’s energy efficiency targets. With the recent transposition of EED requirements into national laws, EU Member States are now moving towards implementing Article 11.
The workshop aims to explore these developments, including the European Commission’s guidelines for interpreting the new article and best practices for collecting, assessing, and using data from energy audits and management systems.
The agenda includes presentations on the implementation of energy audits in Germany, energy audit practices in 10 EU countries, and the tracking of energy efficiency measures in Portugal. It also covers a recent assessment of energy audits in Croatia and provides an overview of energy efficiency measures under Article 8. The event will conclude with discussions on next steps for the transition to Article 11 and the role of energy audits and EnMS in achieving EU energy efficiency goals.
