BUILD UP
The BUILD UP initiative was established by the European Commission in 2009 to support EU Member States in implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
BUILD UP is funded and managed by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) on behalf of the European Commission.
The BUILD UP web portal is intended to reap the benefits of Europe's collective intelligence on energy reduction in buildings for all relevant audiences. It will bring together new practitioners and professional associations while motivating them to exchange best working practices and knowledge and to transfer tools and resources.
The BUILD UP web portal targets professionals working in the building sector (public or private) with an interest on the latest developments at technical or practice level, policy legislation, financial issues, etc related to energy efficiency.
The BUILD UP web portal is provided by a consortium led by everis in the frame of a service contract signed with the EASME and is engineered based on open source software, including Drupal.
BUILD UP Skills
Through its BUILD UP Skills initiative, the EU aims to equip the next generation of construction sector workers – from manual labourers to design professionals and senior management – with the skills and knowledge needed to ensure building and renovation projects meet stringent energy efficiency requirements.
Managed by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EASME), BUILD UP Skills works on the increase in the number of qualified building professionals across Europe to deliver building renovations offering high-energy performance as well as new nearly zero-energy buildings.
