Pilot Study on Water

Since 1992, LIFE has co-financed some 3506 projects, contributing approximately €2.5 billion to the protection of the environment and over the 20 years that the programme has been active approximately 21.6% of the projects funded under LIFE have been related to the water sector. Furthermore, projects are overwhelmingly successful (with more than 80% of projects reaching all or nearly all of their objectives) and the LIFE programme is generally well aligned with relevant legislation and/or policy.
