Accelerating the shift to sustainable and smart urban mobility in Europe

Urban mobility is pivotal to the EU’s green transition and competitiveness. Yet many challenges remain: congestion, emissions, and unequal access. Expanding clean public transport and active travel is essential.

The EU has allocated almost €430 million (2021- 2025) under the Horizon Europe programme to research and innovation projects in this field. Implemented by CINEA, these initiatives are delivering smart, inclusive, low-emission solutions for cities across the EU, in areas from urban space planning to multimodal traffic management, road safety to urban logistics and more.
