Ahead of aviation events such as Aerodays, Airspace World and the Paris Airshow, CINEA is publishing a new webpage highlighting how the EU is transforming aviation through funding programmes like CEF Transport, Horizon Europe Transport, and the Innovation Fund.
CINEA visited Amsterdam for the final mission of the ‘Zero Emission Buses for public transport in Amsterdam’ project, funded by CEF transport. Completed in December 2024, the project deployed 128 zero-emission buses and 160 charging points at various key locations throughout the city.

A delegation from CINEA visited key construction sites in both France and Spain, witnessing first-hand the project’s progress and technological ambition.

Projects in the fields of electricity, smart electricity grids, CO2 networks, hydrogen and electrolysers, and offshore, included in the latest PCI and PMI list can apply for funding.

CINEA recently visited the construction site of Porthos - the CO2 transport backbone in the port of Rotterdam - and confirmed that all the works are progressing on track.

The first ECHOES demonstrator, the IOD-1 satellite, is now in orbit. Equipped with a powerful VHF antenna and an ADS-B surveillance system, it aims to demonstrate the feasibility of real-time communications between air traffic controllers and aircraft using signals transmitted from space.

As the Baltic States prepare to synchronise with the Continental Energy Network on 9 February 2025, CINEA has launched a web publication showcasing the pivotal role of CEF Energy funding in making this historic milestone a reality.

With this selection, the AFIF will support approximately 2,500 electric recharging points for light-duty vehicles and 2,400 for heavy-duty vehicles along the European TEN-T road network, 35 hydrogen refuelling stations for vehicles, and more.

These are the award results of the call for proposals launched in April 2024, the largest under the current CEF Energy programme, both in terms of number of applications submitted and the amount of funding granted, exceeding the call’s initial indicative budget of EUR 850 million.
