The Innovation Fund’s 2023 call for proposals for net-zero technologies (IF23 Call) has received 337 applications from 27 countries.

39 new, groundbreaking cleantech projects selected under the 2022 Innovation Fund large-scale call gathered for the first time with the European Climate Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the Directorate-General for Climate Action at the Cleantech Conference in Brussels.

Many EU-funded projects and initiatives will take part in the poster exhibition on 6 March during the event “Where next for Europe’s Seas” at the EU Ocean Days. The projects will showcase inspiring solutions to the major challenges faced by the ocean and the coastal areas.

The pilot auction under the European Hydrogen Bank, for renewable hydrogen production in Europe, has attracted 132 bids from projects located in 17 European countries. All bids taken together provide for a total planned electrolyser capacity of 8.5 gigawatts (GWe).

Germany is becoming the first Member State to participate in the EU's new “Auctions-as-a-Service” scheme under the European Hydrogen Bank.

The Commission has today selected 17 small-scale innovative clean tech projects to receive over €65 million in project support under the Innovation Fund.

The newest batch of highly innovative clean technology projects will receive funding from the Innovation Fund, one of the world’s largest funding programmes for the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies. 

The Innovation Fund 2023 Call opens with a budget of €4 billion to support the deployment of innovative decarbonisation technologies in Europe.

The Commission launched today the first auction under the European Hydrogen Bank to support the production of renewable hydrogen in Europe, with an initial €800 million of emissions trading revenues, channelled through the Innovation Fund.
