CINEA participated in a conference titled "How EIB debt instruments and advisory services can support a just transition" organised by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in cooperation with the European Commission and the Silesian Region in Poland. For historic reasons, Poland is one of the most carbon intensive countries in Europe. This puts Poland at the forefront of the on-going energy and climate revolution. This is also why Poland is the Member State getting the highest share of support under the the Public Sector Loan Facility of the Just Transition Mechanism.
The conference focused on presenting the pillars of the Mechanism and discussing the available advisory package under InvestEU Advisory HUB, JASPERS, Target and the Just Transition Platform. Furthermore, it served to spread the knowledge about the possibilities of obtaining funds for just transition investments carried out by both public and private entities.
Elisa Ferreira, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, delivered a poignant video message stressing the importance of the Just Transition Mechanism in delivering a fair transition towards a climate-neutral European Union.
