Three innovative projects, funded under H2020 Energy Efficiency, are supporting European industrial policy, by helping energy intensive industries become more sustainable and competitive with the support of digital tools.

As the European industry is embarking on a transition towards climate neutrality and digital leadership, all players in the industrial ecosystem (large companies, SMEs, service providers, public authorities and institutions, academia and research, local communities) need to work together to ensure the modernisation and global competitiveness of our industry, and ultimately a more sustainable and resilient society and economy.
The new concept of Industry 5.0, embraces a sustainable, human-centric transition for European industry,  and several H2020 EE projects are supporting this approach:

EMB3Rs is developing an open source prospection and matching platform, for feasibility and cost-benefit analysis of options to valorise waste heat in a wide range of industries.

INCUBIS is delivering a programme, including a virtual incubator, to facilitate the implementation of energy symbiosis projects at local level in different countries.

SO WHAT is developing a software, to support industries and energy utilities make the best out of waste heat and cold exploitation and integration of renewable energy sources.
