This expert-level event, organised by the PlastLIFE SIP project, explored the growing role of reuse in addressing plastic waste. As global concern over single-use plastics mounted, the webinar examined how reuse could significantly reduce demand for virgin materials and help meet EU circular economy objectives. Participants gained insights into how reuse promoted systemic change, enabling innovative design, reverse logistics, and more sustainable business models.
Drawing on success stories from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Finland, the event highlighted practical reuse initiatives and the regulatory push behind them. Speakers addressed how countries were aligning with EU waste directives, developing national circular economy laws, and transforming everyday practices such as food take-away through reuse. The programme included contributions from key experts involved in the PlastLIFE SIP project, as well as other projects like Reusify and Cmartlife, showcasing how reuse solutions were being scaled across sectors to support a litter-free, resource-efficient future.
