Rural Revival: Empowered Communities and Sustainable Energy in a Changing Climate

On 1 March 2024, this webinar addressed the topic of energy poverty in rural areas. During the event the LIFE project RENOVERTY presented its findings from its first public report.

This event was co-organised by three EC-funded projects RENOVERTY, RURALITIES and Rural Bio UP to focus attention on the issue of energy poverty, specifically in rural areas. Although the issue of energy poverty is acknowledged and frequently discussed, there remain significant gaps in both understanding and implementation. Data indicates that rural areas in Europe are disproportionately neglected in the pursuit of a clean and equitable energy transition, despite rural populations being more susceptible to poverty, social exclusion, and energy poverty.

About RENOVERTY

RENOVERTY is a LIFE project aimed at advancing energy-efficient building renovations in Central Eastern, Southern Eastern, and Southern European countries. Its objective is to develop a methodological and practical framework for establishing Rural Energy Efficiency Roadmaps (REERs).
