Opis

In a context of ambitious targets for both offshore renewable energy production and protection of our oceans, Maritime Spatial Planning is a key tool to anticipate changes and to prevent and mitigate conflicts, while creating synergies between sectors, providing a stable context for investment and protecting natural resources.
This session will provide an update on the EU Offshore Renewable Energy Strategy, one year after its adoption, and consider its interaction with the new approach to a sustainable blue economy in the EU, adopted in May 2021. It will include real stories from EU supported actions that address spatial issues and interactions, with concrete solutions to meet offshore renewable energy and blue economy goals, while protecting our oceans.
