"Planning for the Planet" is a two-hour online roundtable event focused on addressing the challenges of implementing the Green Deal and achieving climate neutrality across the EU, particularly in Eastern European countries. The event will highlight the critical role of energy efficiency in promoting a Just Transition, where European, regional, and local actors collaborate to create sustainable solutions. The discussion will focus on the importance of planning as a key tool for policymakers, showcasing feedback, experiences and good practices from regional experts.
The roundtable will also feature presentations from the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions, offering institutional insights and detailing the EU's support for local actors. Two LIFE projects, Regio1st and CEESEEU-DIGIT, will be highlighted as examples of innovative approaches to sustainable planning. The event will include an introductory session, a tour de table with high-level speakers, and a discussion, concluding with a wrap-up session.
