Multi-Level Governance: a key to EU climate and energy goals

The event ‘Multi-Level Governance: a key to EU climate and energy goals’, held on 18 March, will present key findings from the LIFE NECPlatform project.

The LIFE NECPlatform project is organising a concluding event to discuss the role of multi-level governance in implementing the European Green Deal and achieving the EU’s climate and energy targets. The importance of coordination between national, regional, and local authorities will be highlighted, as these levels of governance are essential for meeting the objectives set by the European Climate Law. Insights from the LIFE NECPlatform project, which has facilitated multi-level dialogues in six EU Member States since 2022, will be shared to showcase best practices and solutions for improving climate and energy policies.

Speakers from European institutions, local governments, and climate organisations will discuss strengthening collaboration between governance levels. Success stories and challenges from the project will be showcased, along with the launch of a new toolkit. The event will conclude with a discussion on the role of Climate and Energy Dialogue platforms in shaping future regulations, followed by a networking session.

The event will also be available online.
