About LIFE Stop Cortaderia
Pampas grass is one of Europe’s most harmful invasive species. This grass has invaded a coastal corridor around the Atlantic arc stretching from France to Portugal, with Cantabria the territory most seriously affected.
The LIFE Stop Cortaderia team set out to curb the spread of Pampas grass in coastal Natura 2000 network sites, thereby protecting sensitive habitats and native species. They also promoted capacity-building and social integration of people with disabilities.
