Description
Worldwide every year, between 2 million and 12 million birds fall victim to collisions with power lines or electrocution by high-voltage transmission lines. Large birds, such as raptors, are particularly affected. This event will bring researchers and conservation professionals together to discuss and showcase actions to reduce these threats. Registration is open now, with places available for 100 participants only.
The programme includes a presentation from LIFE GYPRESCUE on measures implemented in Corsica, where the project seeks to save the bearded vulture from extinction.
LIFE Safe for Vultures aims to ensure that griffon vultures regain their historical distribution areas on Sardinia and promote the island’s long-term survival.
