Description
The Farm to Fork strategy and the European Green Deal call for an extension of sustainable farming practices to ensure food security and reduce adverse environmental effects as well as climate-footprint.
The LIFE Plants for Plants project responds to this call with the introduction of innovative plant biostimulants, aiming to disrupt plant nutrition. Plant extracts and microbials science is opening a new era for biostimulants in which fertilising is re-invented. We need a paradigm change in European agricultural practice that requires collaborative efforts from all relevant stakeholders: practitioners such as farmers and farm advisors, scientific experts and policy-makers.
The Crop Efficiency Enhancement webinar will be an important opportunity for these actors to exchange ideas on what is needed for policy objectives to become reality.
In several distinct tracks, participants will listen to stimulating keynote speeches before participating in roundtables.
The topics treated in these tracks include:
- Comprehensive market and scientific overviews of the plant biostimulation sector
- Scientific focuses and case studies on microbials and plant extracts
- A practical view on the audit process for biostimulants under the new EU fertiliser law
The webinar is moderated by Luke Hutson of New AG International. Speakers comprise representatives from the academic world (Prof. Puglisi, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Piacenza), from the plant nutrition sector (Erik van den Bergh, Managing Director at Van Iperen International), from innovative R&D in agriculture (Adriano Altissimo, Scientific Manager at LandLab) as well as policy experts (Yves Madre, Farm Europe).
