LIFE NatuReef at the NORA 2025 Conference

The Native Oyster Restoration Alliance (NORA) conference is one of the most significant scientific events in Europe focusing on the ecological restoration of marine habitats, particularly native oyster reefs.

The LIFE NatuReef project will participate in the Native Oyster Restoration Alliance conference. The event will explore oyster restoration across the Mediterranean, including new restoration projects, monitoring of restored reefs and optimisation of native oyster supply. Sessions will also address biosecurity, oyster health, genetics and genomics, ecosystem services, outreach and knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary approaches and other oyster species and related topics.

The LIFE NaturReef project research team will contribute four scientific papers on the study and monitoring activities carried out along the Ravenna coastline, near the Bevano Stream mouth, a Natura 2000 site.

Participation in the conference represents an important opportunity for exchange and international visibility for LIFE NatuReef, strengthening scientific networks and promoting the project’s approach that links biodiversity conservation, coastal protection and community engagement.
