LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico meeting: Building sustainable cities

As well as presenting the project’s results, the two-day event will focus on the work carried out with other European projects on climate change adaptation.

Activities on 19 December will take place in the O Vello Cárcere cultural centre, and you can attend online or in person.

Opening session speakers:

  • Lugo mayoress Lara Méndez, who will open the event O Vello Cárcere on the 19th at 9.15 am.
  • Representatives from project partners, including the Lugo Deputation, the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
  • Meline González-Piloyan, project coordinator of the Covenant of Mayors.
  • Boris Hinojo, manager of LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico

Following the opening session, the focus will turn to developing green urban solutions and strategies that are the foundations of LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico.

The second day comprises site visits to the Impulso Verde building and plantaciones de As Gándaras.

The project implements an innovative urban planning strategy in the city of Lugo. Actions take place in residential areas to develop a resilient urban landscape ready to deal with climate change impacts.
