Description
IMPAC5 is a global forum that brings ocean conservation professionals and high-level officials together to inform, inspire and act on marine protected areas.
The LIFE IP MARHA team will make four presentations on the following topics:
- How to communicate today in a marine protected area: feedback from LIFE IP MARHA
- Chemical pollution from human activities and monitoring sedimentary habitats in a marine protected area: what tools are there to manage impacts on biodiversity effectively and at what scales?
- Influence of sociology and local geopolitics on the implementation of strictly protected areas
- Ecosystem-based indices: efficient tools for the successful ecosystem-based management of marine ecosystems

About LIFE IP MAHRA
The project team aim to restore and maintain the good conservation status of natural marine habitats. To do this, they support all actors involved in managing 162 Natura 2000 sites across the Mediterranean Sea and lagoons.
Recently, the project managed to secure the IUCN Green list label for a marine Natura 2000 site (Baie de Seine Occidentale). This is the first time this label has been granted to a marine Natura 2000 site in France.
