LIFE ETX webinar: At what price? The role of the EU's Emissions Trading System in combating the climate crisis

LIFE ETX webinar

Last summer, the European Commission launched 'Fit for 55', a legislative package to revise the EU's 2030 climate and energy framework. Key elements include the revision and scaling up of the ETS. 

This event will see participants discussing the opportunities and challenges the reformed ETS presents, how it can lead Europe to climate neutrality, and ensure a just transition for society and the climate. 

Speakers include:  

  • Peter Liese - MEP & rapporteur for revision of the EU ETS   
  • Jos Delbeke - EIB Climate Chair, School of Transnational Governance, European University Institute. Former Director-General of the European Commission's DG Climate Action 

About LIFE ETX 

Carbon Market Watch launched LIFE ETX  (Emissions Trading Extra) in September 2021. The team aims to enhance European climate governance and optimise the functioning of the ETS through scientific assessment, broader and more robust civil society participation, and international collaboration.
