On 6 December, in the European Parliament, LIFE ETX will hold a panel discussion on the impacts that the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the new Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will have on the Western Balkan countries. There will be a particular focus on options to mitigate these impacts in the power sector. The event will be live-streamed.

MEP Petros Kokkalis (The Left Group) will host the panel discussion. The event will unite environmental NGOs and mayors from the Western Balkans with EU policymakers to discuss challenges and opportunities associated with implementing the EU’s carbon pricing policy.
