LIFE for Entomology: promoting insect conservation at ECE 2026

The XIII European Congress of Entomology (ECE) will be held in Tours, France, from 29 June to 3 July 2026.

  • Conferences and summits

Following the success of previous ECE meetings, ECE 2026 will once again bring together the global entomological community to share knowledge and inspire research. Insects and their associated micro-organisms provide vital ecosystem services, from pollination to soil health, yet they can also pose risks as they act as pests, disease vectors or invasive species. This congress will examine the challenges posed by insects, as well as the nature-based solutions they offer to support a more sustainable future. To do so, it will present a rich programme of plenary sessions, symposia and posters.

The LIFE Programme will be present at ECE 2026 with a dedicated stand and a symposium session scheduled for Tuesday, 30 June 2026. The session will feature a two-hour symposium under the theme “EU-funded Programmes: LIFE Programme – Insects at the Edge: LIFE-funded Conservation Strategies for Europe's Threatened Fauna.” Several LIFE projects working on biodiversity, habitat restoration, and pollinator conservation will take part in the symposium and during the event.
