In the last ten years Digital Textile Printing (DTP) technologies have been revolutionizing the way textiles are printed. Unfortunately, DTP requires the fabric to be fully pre-treated using urea in order to let the ink properly penetrate.

Description
The LIFE DeNTreat project team set out to demonstrate an innovative way of sustainably reducing the amount of nitrogen in urban wastewaters. These discharges come from the digital textile printing (DTP) sector. In fact, DTP causes an increase of more than 200% of nitrogen in wastewaters, resulting in high treatment costs as well as elevated nitrous oxide (N20) emissions and sludge volumes. Since 2017, the team has been exploring the use of so-called decentralised wastewater pre-treatment modules to reduce such discharges.
LIFE DeNTreat’s final event will take place on 24 February. At this webinar, the team will present the project, case studies and overall results.
