Description

Organised by DG REGIO, the JTP Conference: 5th Anniversary of the Just Transition Platform will take place in Brussels and online on 21-23 October 2025.
This landmark event will celebrate five years of the JTP and Just Transition Fund (JTF) implementation, including their pivotal role in supporting EU regions transitioning away from fossil fuels towards sustainable, climate-neutral economies.
As in previous editions, the conference will serve as a platform for exchanging perspectives and experiences on the just transition process with stakeholders from national, regional, and local authorities, alongside economic and social partners, civil society, and representatives of the European Commission.
Director-General Themis Christophidou (DG REGIO) will officially launch the event and will present the JTP Champions Awards Ceremony, which this year will honour outstanding projects and individuals driving impactful change in JTF regions. The conference will also feature an eye-catching exhibition of projects funded by the Just Transition Mechanism (JTM).
The core sessions of the conference on 21 and 22 October will facilitate exchange between stakeholders on the journey of a just transition towards a climate-neutral Europe.
They will address various topics such as:
- Just Transition Fund as a catalyst for structural reforms in the regions
- Regional competitiveness and economic transformation by investing in clean technologies
- The use of data to assess transition policies, foster collaboration, and support inclusive, regionally competitive strategies
- Justice and resilience to support socially equitable and sustainable transitions
- The strategic use of communication to build trust
On 23 October, there will be a session organised by the Committee of Regions: Multi-Level Dialogue on Just Transition. You can register for this event via EUSurvey.
