The event, organised by LIFE-Patches & Corridors, focused on the distribution of Lycaena helle across Europe and explored conservation strategies in the face of climate change. Experts presented research on butterfly population trends, habitat threats, and adaptation measures. Two excursions provided participants with the opportunity to visit typical Violet Copper habitats in the Northern Eifel.
The symposium took place at the Aukloster in Monschau (Germany) and was available for hybrid participation with simultaneous German-English translation. Attendance was free, but registration was required by 28 March 2025 due to a limit of 80 participants. A livestream link was shared before the event. The programme included expert presentations, discussions, and field trips, offering a comprehensive insight into butterfly conservation amidst environmental challenges.
