International seminar of the LIFE Climate Jura peatlands

The seminar will take place from 15 to 17 May 2024 in Bois-d'Amont, France, and focus on the functioning and the rehabilitation of European mountain peatlands.

This event, organised by LIFE Climate Jura peatlands, aims to share knowledge and experiences on the challenges and opportunities of restoring and conserving mountain peatlands in Central Europe. These ecosystems are vital for biodiversity, water regulation, and carbon storage, but they are threatened by human activities and climate change.

The seminar will address questions such as how to assess the state and function of peatlands, what are the best practices and techniques for restoration, and what are the expected outcomes and impacts of intervention.

The full programme of the event is available here
